This is the most important song/video I will hear/see this spring. I am not even being sarcastic. Go to a BF show and you will be transformed. The BF EP drops March 29th and I am very excited.
I am happy to say that less than 2 months into 2010, is already better than the sum of 2009. I think it’s because I’ve fully and officially settled into this new adult life. It takes a lot longer to REALLY adjust to things than I think, but now that I’ve mostly got a handle on it lets recap the changes:
Finding Sustainable Hobbies:
This year I’ve taken up snowboarding and gone a few times. I am not that good as my broken ribs will attest, but I’m learning how to do something fun and getting a good workout in. Also snowboarding allows me the opportunity to go away with pals to cabins for long weekends that make the winter months much more bearable.
I have also gone to more shows/concerts this year already than I think all of last year! The key is, if someone recommends a band, just go. Worst case scenario, you don’t like it. Best case is you like a new band. Besides I’d rather pay 30 bucks and wake up with a ticket stub, instead of a hangover.
Caring About Stuff/Positivity:
After my New Orleans trip, I was awakened to what it feels like to be positive. Positive people seemed weird to me, but they really just make a choice to not let outside things affect them. They also usually choose to make the changes they want to see themselves instead of waiting for people. I have been actively looking out service opportunities as a result and I’ll prob start Habitat for Humanity or some similar program once I find a good one.
Catching Up With Friends:
We all are settled in enough with our lives that we really can’t use the “I’m Busy” card to not hangout with older friends. Hell, my gmail calendar is PACKED with stuff I have to do that I don’t want to, so I have been making an effort to fit in people more. I don’t dislike them, so I see no reason why I can’t keep up with these people more.
So yea, this year is already great and if it keeps up this way I see nothing but big things coming my way.
p.s. I have my masters degree now too officially!
